This zine is a labor of love, produced slowly and patiently by hand, in my own studio. It lives and moves and has its being in what I think of as the “economy of grace” — that untaxable, unquantifiable web of relationships that gives our lives meaning. But hey: we are all dual citizens. We also live in an “economy of cash.” To make this work, I need to invite you, as subscribers, to support the initiative materially. The cost of subscription is about what a sandwich and a beer costs (together with a modest tip for service), once every three months. If this seems reasonable to you, click one of the buttons below.

Impartial? A graphic speculation about how the first newspaper came to Washington, DC

by Gregory Robison

This comic, which was anthologized in District Comics: An unconventional history of Washington D.C., was also issued as a free-standing piece and sold at SPX, the comics convention in Bethesda, Maryland. It will be reissued soon and will be available to subscribers.

Life Sentences Workshop: Journaling for life

Take a writing class with me.

For the last ten years or so I have offered an eight-week workshop a few times a year on the art of the circadian journal — i.e., how to keep a diary. Regular private writing of this sort, where you can be perfectly free with respect to subject and style but adhere to a regular discipline of work, is an excellent workout for any kind of writing.
